Bigger and better than last year. The Bunbury Science Fair was held on Saturday the 19th of August. Seven of the SW Makers displayed our projects at the 09:00-16:00 day long event. Sorry Tim, I missed taking a photo of your table, and Diane's Big Head yellow box. Thanks to the Bunbury Library for hosting the event!

Another interesting meeting. We had a new person along working on the electronics of a golf hand cart, lighting up models with LEDs, lots of software being written, plus some giveaways via some donated electronics. Most of us used the time to prep for the following weekends Bunbury Science Fair. A good meeting.
Wow, this was a big meetup. Our second largest meeting. We had people working on drones, writing Python games, electronics, a powered golf cart, lighting up scaled models, and a bunch of new people introducing themselves and their projects. Chris donated some tubs of electronics to the group. These where actively looked over by the young members of the group. A great day!
We had three new people introduce them selves. Lots of chatting about current projects and projects of old. Some things discussed: SailfishOS, renewable energy, model making and how to integrate LED lighting into them, Sound Engineering project. Rick has got Bluetooth working for data transfer. A great dynamic meeting. Unfortunately, no photos where taken at this meeting.
A very busy morning, it all just flew by. A bunch of new faces popping in and some all the way from Nannup. Stephen brought along a new 4 colour Bamboo Lab X1-Carbon 3D printer and had it printing out things for people to check out. Even printed out a NFP game character that Caitlin had Designing/producing: Talking of printers, Rick brought along a new PCB design he is looking to produce, and a massive planetary gear print job that explains how they work: Another Stephen brought along 4 boxes of electronics that people could take home and use: Daryl had the Library's 3D printer printing something out, and he used the Cricut to cut out the SW Maker logo for a coffee mug: Liam brought along some electronic parts that he is building into various projects. Caitlin and Ivan where demoing some of their games they are developing. Oli was busy working on his Python based game and found a nice Raspberry Pi based sprite editor to work with: Harry was showing off some new Drone parts for a rebuild thats going on, as well as a solar MPPT/motor board he had design and made. Someone has recently picked up a thermal camera, so it was fun checking out the 3D printer in action and some electronic circuits: As well as a bunch of other electronic boards and circuits: There where a few other projects and people that I might have missed out on. It was great to see so many people and interesting conversations going on.
What a way to end the year. We had some new people introduce them selves and see what antics we get up too. Daryl brought in the new Bunbury Library Ender Pro 3 Neo 3D printer and had it printing out some things. There where robots running around on the floor, Raspberry Pi games being developed, a Nintendo Switch being hacked, Software for a car air-conditioning system being developed, along with general Maker Space discussions. It was a great way to end the year.
Had a great turnout , with a number of new people showing up to see all the action. There were discussions around tracking power outages, www.printables.com/ , www.thingiverse.com/ and www.makera.com/products/carvera. Great to see some robots running around.
Even with a few apologies, it was a great turn out with a few new faces from the Science Fair coming along to see some robots.
Steve had some robots running around the room, Rick was working on a ESP32 powered dual temperature data collector, that was display the data via a built in hosted webpage. Harry turned up with a working drone, left to fly it for a bit, and returned with a broken drone. Danny had a 3D CNC brass fitting that his new machine had cut out, along with a video showing it being cut out. Tim was working on some software, or a design on his laptop. I had some RGB LED controllers that I was trying to upload a new program too and some other gear. Being a quiet morning due to a number of people away with other family events on, we had a very hands on learning morning. Ollie was writing Python based games and started learning how to use Gimp to edit and create images and Brock had fun learning electronics and playing around with Arduino and sensors etc. Tim was working on designing something and Diane managed to get a bit of sewing done. The morning went very fast.
This was held on Saturday the 13th of August and ran from 2pm to 6pm at the main Bunbury Library. What a blast! There where 5 of us each with a display table where we met and chatted around 1500 people over the afternoon and discussed our projects that we had on display. Even the squally weather didn't keep people away. There where other groups presenting science based information as well. A fantastic day and we hope it will become a annual event.
