Even with over 80mm of rain over night, people still flocked to the popular Bunbury library Science Fair.  Thanks to Rick, Harry, Stephen, Caitlin and Ivan, the South West Makers hosted 5 tables, displaying five 3D printers, sparkling LEDs and electronics and two sets of immersive VR headsets.

Winter is here.  It was a cold drive to Bunbury to attend the July meeting, but worth it.  A few new faces and lots of interesting conversations going on.  Rick brought along a fascinating cool Creality 3D scanner and had it scanning a few objects.  Stephen assembled his new open frame portable Bambu printer.  Ed is working on his plans for building a flyable kit airplane and I was testing out my new USB-C PD trigger boards - pumping 98W through the board.  Other discussions included AI, thermal imaging and Shenzhen, China.

Paul, the writer of these Blog posts has been away visiting Makerspaces around Asia for the last 10 months, with more time away later in the year, so I can't write anything up, but the SW Maker meetings do go on.

It was a good turn out for the June meeting, with a new person showing up, and some people who hadn't been there for a while.  Great to see everyone again and see what we had all been up to over the intervening period.

Bigger and better than last year.  The Bunbury Science Fair was held on Saturday the 19th of August.  Seven of the SW Makers displayed our projects at the 09:00-16:00 day long event.  Sorry Tim, I missed taking a photo of your table, and Diane's Big Head yellow box. Thanks to the Bunbury Library for hosting the event!

Another interesting meeting.  We had a new person along working on the electronics of a golf hand cart, lighting up models with LEDs, lots of software being written, plus some giveaways via some donated electronics. Most of us used the time to prep for the following weekends Bunbury Science Fair.  A good meeting.

Wow, this was a big meetup. Our second largest meeting.  We had people working on drones, writing Python games, electronics, a powered golf cart, lighting up scaled models, and a bunch of new people introducing themselves and their projects. Chris donated some tubs of electronics to the group. These where actively looked over by the young members of the group. A great day!

We had three new people introduce them selves.  Lots of chatting about current projects and projects of old. Some things discussed: SailfishOS, renewable energy, model making and how to integrate LED lighting into them, Sound Engineering project.  Rick has got Bluetooth working for data transfer.  A great dynamic meeting. Unfortunately, no photos where taken at this meeting.

A very busy morning, it all just flew by.  A bunch of new faces popping in and some all the way from Nannup. Stephen brought along a new 4 colour Bamboo Lab X1-Carbon 3D printer and had it printing out things for people to check out.  Even printed out a NFP game character that Caitlin had Designing/producing:

Talking of printers, Rick brought along a new PCB design he is looking to produce, and a massive planetary gear print job that explains how they work:

Harry was showing off some new Drone parts for a rebuild thats going on, as well as a solar MPPT/motor board he had design and made. Someone has recently picked up a thermal camera, so it was fun checking out the 3D printer in action and some electronic circuits:

As well as a bunch of other electronic boards and circuits:

There where a few other projects and people that I might have missed out on.  It was great to see so many people and interesting conversations going on.

What a way to end the year.  We had some new people introduce them selves and see what antics we get up too.  Daryl brought in the new Bunbury Library Ender Pro 3 Neo 3D printer and had it printing out some things. There where robots running around on the floor, Raspberry Pi games being developed, a Nintendo Switch being hacked, Software for a car air-conditioning system being developed, along with general Maker Space discussions.  It was a great way to end the year.
